Focus & Features:
With the increasing focus to automate processes and the need to operate in the digital platform, Companies and executives have increasingly relied on the use of data and information in making decisions and actions towards achieving their purpose. As a result of this shift, it is imperative for auditors to be able to understand what the data shows and use it to create value-adding recommendations. However, auditors are deterred from maximizing it due to the competencies needed to import, cleanse, analyze, interpret and transform these data to information.
To address these challenges, internal audit professionals began to use tools which are generally known as Computer –Assisted Audit Techniques or "CAATS." One of the tools that are commonly used by internal audit professionals in the Philippines is Microsoft (MS) Excel. This course will aid internal auditors in maximizing their use of MS Excel in conducting various audit activities ranging from data understanding, importing and extracting, analysis, and reporting, among others. The methodologies include a combination of lectures, case studies and group discussions to provide a comprehensive learning process.
