Audit Manager at Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc-Microfinance

Allen is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and master’s in business administration (MBA) degree holder with over a decade of experience in the field of Internal Auditing, Risk Management and Academe.

Currently, he is the Audit Manager for Corporate Shared Services of RAFI Microfinance, Inc. (RAFI
MFI), one of the top and growing microfinance institutions in the Philippines with nation-wide
operations. He is responsible for enhancing the audit monitoring and follow-up phase in RAFI-MFI by establishing a control of evaluating the effectiveness of management actions and increasing the collaboration between auditors and the management. He also led the internal audit group’s
knowledge management initiatives to standardized audit procedures to enhance audit quality and
efficiency. He reports functionally to the Chief Audit Executive (CAE), reports periodically in the
Management Committees’ Exit Conferences, and sits as a resource at Board Audit Committees’
meetings.

Before his current role, he was the Head of Audit of Taytay Sa Kauswagan (A Microfinance NGO), Inc. (TSKI), a microfinance NGO with nation-wide operations serving microentrepreneurs in the
Philippines. During his time with TSKI, he was the first to introduce and implement the risk-based
internal audit approach, adhering to the IIA Practice Guide in developing a Risk-based Internal Audit Plan. He was also responsible for conducting the first organization-wide risk assessment and the establishment of a fraud awareness program to address the inherent fraud risks associated with microfinance operations. His responsibilities included the auditing of subsidiary companies of TSKI operating in different industries such as hospitality, real estate, microinsurance, and healthcare.

His past professional work experience included his being an internal auditor of West Visayas State
University (WVSU), one of the top universities in the Philippines, and renowned as a hub for
topnotchers in the fields of Education, Medicine and Nursing. He used to be a lecturer in the same
university teaching Financial Management and Investment and Portfolio Management.
Allen is an active member of IIA Philippines since 2018 and a current member of Conferences
Committee and speaker for public run seminars.
