Dr. Carl Canlas is an accomplished professional with extensive information technology, project management, and auditing expertise. He holds a bachelors and masters degrees in Information Systems and Public Administration and a doctorate in Information Technology. Currently, he works as Senior Internal Auditor at the Church Auditing Department, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dr. Canlas also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Brigham Young University (BYU), committed to fostering a stimulating learning environment and experienced in teaching a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
His research interests are within the field of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and web development. He holds several certifications, including Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), among others.
Additionally, he is currently serving as the Education Chair for the ISACA Utah Chapter. Carl is married to Family and Human Development Professor, Dr. Jerevie Malig. Together they have three beautiful children. Outside of the office, Carl enjoys basketball, multiplayer StarCraft and playing the bass guitar with his local band.
